Celebrating Small Business Month: My favourites

Keeping on with the theme for the month, we’re talking small business! Felicia shared her favs earlier this month, and there are a few of mine!

Oil Babies

You don’t have to jump on the essential oils bandwagon if you don’t want to, but a great product is a great product! We did a campaign with Oil Babies a number of years ago, and I fell in love with their lip balms, and now Aurora uses them too! I may or may not have just place a huge order of just lip balms. We’re fans of the cinnamon and vanilla flavours in this house.

If you’re looking for more natural products, or you just want to try something new, check them out here.

Steve’s Tea Company

Steve’s Tea is an inter-generational business that not only sells loose teas, but also has an award-winning tea room in Brantford if you are looking for high tea or to book an event. A little bird told me they are working hard on their advent calendar for the year, and they sell out every year, so make sure you snag one early on! Lana hand picks every tea that goes into it, so you know you’re going to get to try and fall in love with some new flavours.

Not only does Steve’s Tea have great products, Lana is an amazing community champion for small businesses, so it’s definitely worth the shout out!

If you’re a tea lover, you can shop all their delicious teas online here.

Roylene’s Sweet Treats

I met Roylene at a local trade show and tried her cookies when a friend got her own branded cookies for her business. I have since ordered cookies from Roylene for client events. How can you resist when this is how she describes her business: “Bring a little taste of Grandma's Custom Sugar Cookies home with you.”

I brought a box of SongBird cookies home as a little gift from her and little hands managed to steal most of them, but I got a few bites. 😊

Check out Roylene’s stuff here. You won’t be disappointed!

Chuck Burger

OK. Nestled in Blue Mountain Village is one of the best burgers I’ve ever had – don’t come at me… Chuck Burger was such a welcome surprise. We checked out a few menus and were underwhelmed and decided to just grab a burger and walk around. Best decision ever. It was fresh, juicy, and delicious. It was only disappointing that they don’t have locations elsewhere!

If you’re in Blue Mountain or surrounding areas, definitely worth a visit! Check them out here.
